Aurora Lucas was diagnosed with lung cancer at 28 years old, which is very rare. Despite having many symptoms, doctors told her she was too young to have lung cancer. After months of tests and insurance issues, she finally got the right diagnosis and treatment plan. She responded well to a shortened chemotherapy/radiation regimen and is now taking a daily pill. Though fatigued, Aurora is back to teaching and working on her doctorate, while advocating for young adult cancer patients.
