Why we need more early detection research for lung cancer

Medicare and insurance coverage of annual CT scans for at-risk individuals is a step in the right direction toward improving lung cancer survival.

However, additional research into early detection of lung cancer is desperately needed. More than half of new lung cancer patients have never smoked or quit over 15 years ago. The current guidelines don’t include these people, even if they also are at risk for lung cancer.

Help us fund this important research.
